VNS-786 User Manual - Not the VNS-686 manual, but it provides a great deal of insight into the system.

    Hi,

Looks like the start of a great site you have here.

I currently have 3 of the older Data (11 Squad Car systems.(Read Adastra VNS-786 Boards and 10.4″ LCD screens)

I am looking for a data sheet for the pinout for the Scsi-1 connector from the board to the proprietary converter board for the touch screen and LCD input as well as a pinout from there to the LCD itself.

Would you be able to help me?

Yeah that be the heat to modify the screens to work with a faster system. I bed there are many folks out there that love to know.
I guess open the screen and see who actually manufactures them and go from there.

However i kinda like the MDS 2000 systems as they are, just a little slow though. Would love a M5 or M6
I have spend countless ours modifying my systems. and actually put it back to work what it’s made for :) since my department don’t have such equipment.
    I have
    2x M2C-P233M 32RAM w/o power supply or screens
    2x MDC-K6-400M 128Ram
2x MDC-K6-400M 256Ram USB, video in, looking for driver.
Running WinXP pro with low settings.
3M TouchWare driver for Windows Version 5.64 SR6, works best with XP i think.
    Digitus W lan usb stick.
    OEM keyboards or wireless BTC:9019URF
4 port self powered USB hub mod above PCMCIA slot. 40GB HDD and so on.

Daniel nice project keep this side up, could be a good source sharing information about MDS systems.

    Respectfully
    Mike

I have quite a few of the units collecting dust because of the proprietary screen connections.

What I really need is a data sheet for the LCD so I can trace the pin outs — without that tts hopeless.

If I can figure out which wires are for the LCD and what is for the backlight and touchscreen controller, then I I can use any new board with TFT support. For example; I have an Advantech PCM-9575 with a 1Ghz VIA Processor that supports Panel out / TFT.

I have taken the whole system apart. I have attempted to track down data sheets for all part number and have come up empty-handed with the screen. I still need the LCD pinout, and the touchscreen controller pinouts.
